Joni Lovvorn – Drums, Percussion, Background Vocals

Born and raised in the Southern tip of Texas, San Benito (Freddie Fender’s hometown) Joni Lovvorn realized early on that she was addicted to her big sister’s drum set. She joined the drum section of the elementary school band and for the next 12 years, studied and performed music.  She attended Pan American University and the University of Houston, performing with the orchestra, marching band, jazz ensemble, and was the percussionist for several musicals in college and local theaters.  In the “Big Hair 80’s” she joined her first touring band, an all female pop band “Those Girls”, which solidified her presence in the music scene.  Her most notable band was with Cowboys Nightmare, an all female renegade country band from Houston that landed two #1 hits on the European independent country charts.  She also had the distinct honor of playing Farm Aid 2000, sharing the stage with Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Crosby, Stills and Nash and so many other great musicians.  Other memorable performances included the Zurich Country Festival in Switzerland  and opening  the show for Lee Ann Womack. Joni relocated to Austin in 2006 and performed with her brother and bassist Jim Lovvorn, together they were the rhythm section for various different bands, incorporating blues, rock n roll, and Americana styles of drumming before finding her spot with Susan Arbuckle in 2012.

Kevin Chin – Guitar

Kevin Chin, a Chicago native, has spent the last 25 years playing various musical instruments. His father, who spent much of his youth growing up in London, presented Kevin with his mostly British-based record collection from the 60’s and 70’s, and it was at this point in Kevin’s early teens that he discovered his love for the electric guitar as well as the sounds and styling of music from this golden era. Kevin has since played lead guitar in front of a 50 piece symphonic wind ensemble, toured through villas in Italy with a Jazz Big Band, and headlined almost every major venue in Chicago with his original and cover bands.

While recording in various recording studios over the years, Kevin also developed a fascination with audio engineering and music production. He began to build up his recording studio in Chicago, which would eventually become NMP (, which has since relocated to Austin. In 2013, Kevin was voted a double winner in the Jazz and R&B categories for the EARS Mix-Off Competition (Engineering and Audio Recording Society of Chicago).
Kevin traded Chicago’s cold winters for Austin’s scorching summers in 2013, and is excited to be a part of the Susan Arbuckle Band and Trio!

Katie Marie – Bass

Katie Marie is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from Devon, UK.  For the past 19 years she has performed all over the UK and Europe with many different bands and artists as well as performing her own solo material.  In 2010 she won the Singer/Songwriter Contest held in Leipzig (Germany) and 2012 won Best Acoustic Act at the South West Music Awards.  Katie co-headlined a 3 week tour in Germany with Elli Erl (Winner of the 2nd season of German Idol) and co-write an EP with Elli which was recorded in Cologne.  In September 2013 Katie went on a 26 state tour in the USA playing drums for Baltimore based Disappear Fear.  Also in 2013 Katie played a string of shows doing percussion for Martin Barre (Jethro Tull), one of which was a live BBC event.  She is currently co-writing material with Phil Gould (drummer/songwriter Level42), Dan Cassidy (Eva Cassidy’s brother) and Henry Priestman (The Christians).  She is currently endorsed by Takamine Guitars, Schlagwerk Percussion, L R Baggs and Logarhythm Stomp Boxes and was asked by Roland Systems Group to road test/review their VR3 audio/video mixer.  She has recorded 4 studio albums, all of which were recorded in her own studio on a farm in the rolling hills of Devon.  She performed each instrument (guitar, bass, drums, keys) and sang all the vocal parts herself.  Katie is currently recording new material in the Austin area and is very much enjoying playing acoustic guitar and bass guitar in the Susan Arbuckle band.
